Central London Index Drawing, (poster) 2007
 
Central London Index Drawing is created entirely from a hand written index of the A-Z map of London. Only the street names are present, the rest of the map's usual cartigraphic information has been stripped away – the blank spaces point at where the parks and river should be. In this pared back cartography what is excluded tells us just as much as what is present. 
 
The drawing was commissioned by Art on the Underground and produced as a poster in an edition of 25,000. The posters were given away to the public for free, from a selection of underground stations, on one day only in November 2007.
 
50 of these posters have been signed and numbered by the artist.
