Rave Den, 2014
 
Anna Chrystal Stephens is part of artist collective Vulpes Vulpes, who while working on a project researching historical gatherings and informal social spaces, discovered this shelter at a well-known rave site outside Stoke-on-Trent. 
 
Stephens writes: ‘In the woodland site we found signs of previous visitors, discarded cans, lighters and food receptacles which inform of the site’s social history. The form of the dwelling; branches, leaves and detritus, impressed upon us thoughts of human nesting as we imagined the den used over time and by a weary revellers and travellers. Strangers resting together, trusting each other, in a temporary transitory manner, as the boundaries of privacy are relaxed in favour of a good night’s sleep.’
